KERN UX Standard – The open design system for German public administration
KERN is a technology-independent, open UX standard for the design of digital public administration services, which is provided under an open source license at kern-ux.de. The reusable UI components, templates, and code modules enable more efficient development of user-centered and accessible online services, service portals, and specialized procedures – from the local to the federal level.
KERN is already in productive use and is being expanded by a growing community in line with demand. Through interoperability with libraries and in combination with service standards and umbrella brands, KERN contributes to comprehensible, accessible, and recognizable administrative services.
